This season, the Bowling Green High School boys’ golf team has had a strong showing, and they are looking to compete for regionals and state in the fall.
“The team has a strong chance to qualify for the state tournament based on their early season performance,” said Coach Adam Whitt. He has coached boys’ golf for Bowling Green since 2009.
This year alone, the team has won titles including “Best of the West” and South Warren Invitational tournaments, and they were runner ups in the Dawson Spring Invitational.
Whitt said, “The team this year is led by Collier Curd, who was the number one ranked golfer in Kentucky when the all-state points list came out August 13th.”
“I’m motivated by my competition,” said Collier Curd, a junior at BGHS.
The team is made up of 6 upperclassmen with the rest of the 20 person lineup consisting of underclassmen and middle schoolers.
“We hope that the young kids develop so that the team can have continued success,” said Whitt.
Bowling Green can expect more great accomplishments from BGHS boys’ golf this fall with the possibility of a state title.
