Review of Bowling Green's iconic coffeeshop

Spencer’s Coffee is a staple in Bowling Green. It is located downtown on the square and is frequented by everyone from college students studying to families grabbing breakfast. Spencer’s not only has delicious coffee; it serves breakfast, lunch, and some delicious pastries. The walls are covered with the works of local artists; some for sale and some just for show.

Recently, the coffee house recently expanded and opened a second, quieter sitting area. Student Leah Hughes takes advantage of this new addition after school to work on homework. Leah believes the new add-on creates a “chill environment that’s great for studying.”

Every Wednesday and Sunday, Spencer’s has a featured waffle that comes with whipped cream or apple butter. Junior, Mary Grace Simpson, says the waffle is “mouth watering.” She regularly visits Spencer’s for their waffle and can be seen at Spencer’s studying after school and talking with friends on the weekend. Since Mary Grace visits Spencer’s so frequently, she has taken the time to admire the artwork that covers the walls and believes it “makes the space less boring.”

Spencer’s Coffee will not be leaving Bowling Green’s restaurant scene any time soon. It is consistently busy and has become an essential part of many locals’ routines because it is host to some of the best coffee in Bowling Green. Customers can enjoy both indoor and outdoor seating so its relaxing vibe can be enjoyed in both rain and shine. One of spencer’s employee says “meeting new people and the interaction with customers” is his favorite part of working at Spencer’s. Spencer’s environment and customers combine to make the place a great place to study or relax.
