NBA- Klay Thompson shocked the league on October 29, setting the NBA 3-point record with 14 shots made from deep. This was even more surprising considering he started off the season 5 for 36 on three-point shots. In the first quarter he made more threes than he had the whole season. In other league news, the Rockets were expected to be one of the top teams in the West, but they have started the season at the bottom, only ahead of the Suns. Meanwhile, in the Eastern Conference, everything is going as expected. Gianiss is leading the Bucks on a 7 game win streak, and the Raptors and Celtics are off to great starts as well.
NFL- The Rams are still undefeated after beating the Packers 29-27. They are showing that they have one of the most dominant and unstoppable offenses in the league. The next challenge for the Rams will be the Drew Brees-led Saints. During the Saints’ game against the Vikings, Drew Brees had his first turnover of the season. not interception, first turnover, he didn’t have a single fumble or interception just touchdowns. Next week will be the battle of the titans, the Patriots and the Packers. Rodgers is going against one of the worst passing defenses in the NFL so I guess we'll just have to wait and see till this weekend.
MLB- With the World Series ending last weekend, the Boston Red Sox take home the Commissioner's Trophy. Matt Pearce led the Sox with 8 runs batted in while batting .333. Pearce led Boston’s high-powered offense. Boston averaged over 5 runs per game in the regular season and carried that momentum all the way to the World Series, averaging over 5.5 runs per game in the World Series. After a string of dramatic games, including an 18 inning thriller, Boston secured its first title since 2013.
